The committee meeting of citizen forum was held in the temple of Jayasumanaramaya in Sumedagama Trincomali in 22 of September in 2011. There were 9 committee members representing six villages. The especial incident was that one of former political representatives attended to the meeting for discussing about the land issue of Mahamayapura because the land based on Mahamayapura area are being surveyed but people do not know what is the objective of survey.
People believe that the government is going to acquire the lands for developing tourism. People’s right to information do not ensure on that incident because people have no ways to know about the reason of survey. Land issue is the major problem that people are facing. The committee members discussed on different issues and agreed to involve for land issue as the citizen forum at least to know about the objective of the survey.
Proposed activities in the committee meeting-
1. To inform the divisional secretary on the formed citizen forum by sending a letter with a letter head ( A letter head has been designed for the citizen forum)
2. To inform the president of the pradeshiya saba in town and Gravate on the formed citizen forum
3. To get an appoint to meet divisional secretary on land issue
4. To aware the relevant people on land issue
5. To request for participating the people gallery as member of citizen forum
